What is Psychosynthesis therapy?

Psychosynthesis therapy is a form of talk therapy based on psychosynthesis — a holistic psychology and life philosophy developed by Roberto Assagioli (1888–1974).

In psychosynthesis, we look at the whole human being: both what hurts and what longs to grow.
We explore what limits us — but also our inner resources, motivation, and potential.

We begin with all of you

We work with several interconnected aspects of your inner world:

  • The body — tension, energy, and nervous system responses
  • Feelings — what you express and what you hold back
  • Thoughts and self-images — ideas that support or limit you
  • The will and inner motivation — what gives direction, courage, and meaning
  • Your soulful dimension — values, purpose, and inner compass

When we understand how these different parts interact, we can begin to make more conscious choices — and live more in alignment with who we truly are.

Core ideas in psychosynthesis

  1. A holistic view of the person
You are more than your problems. You are a whole of body, feelings, thoughts, will, and soul.
  2. The Self and the Will
Within us lies an inner center — a Self — that can guide, heal, and create direction.
  3. Subpersonalities
We all carry different inner parts (such as the achiever, the helper, the angry one, the rebel, the wounded one, the playful one). Therapy helps us understand these parts and let them cooperate rather than conflict. This creates greater inner balance.
  4. The transpersonal dimension
Our inherent longing for meaning, growth, and living more in alignment with our authentic self — the person we truly are. In simple terms: the journey of finding oneself.

How therapy works

Our work together is primarily based on conversation, but may also include:

  • guided visualisations
  • gestalt exercises
  • body awareness practices
  • creative expression (writing, imagery, symbolic work)
  • work with subpersonalities
  • will-training and goal processes

The aim of therapy is to help you gain deeper self-awareness, find inner balance, and realize your full potential.

“Psychosynthesis therapy is not only about healing what is broken —
but also about awakening what longs to grow.”
